Panorama St Paul’s wins Green Award for Good Design

Panorama St Paul’s has won the Green Award for Good Design in the Green Architecture category, the 1980s office building was recognized for its transformative deep retrofit and extension.

As part of the sustainability strategy KPF recognized the value of the Portland stone and granite that made up the existing building and chose to view the old office as an urban quarry. The new façades are a completely rearranged assemblage of the stone from the original exterior. We carefully removed 30,000 existing stones and created low carbon precast units, faced with the re-purposed Portland stone.

The reuse of Portland stone, employment of modular construction methods, specifying low carbon materials and adopting a zero to landfill policy, improved and transformed the building’s environmental performance whilst also minimising the environmental impact.
