Main Contractor: MACE Architect: KPF Façades consultant: FMDC Materials: Portland Stone Completed: November 2025
Panorama St Paul’s, has been transformed by KPF, from an outdated office building into a contemporary mixed-use development, featuring a new street through the site which has become a gateway destination for London’s Culture Mile.
As part of the sustainability strategy KPF recognized the value of the Portland stone and granite that made up the existing building and chose to view the old office as a quarry. The new façades are a completely rearranged assemblage of the stone from the original exterior. We removed the existing stone and created low carbon precast units, faced with the re-purposed Portland stone.
The reuse of Portland stone, employment of modular construction methods, specifying low carbon materials and adopting a zero to landfill policy has improved and transformed the building’s environmental performance whilst also minimising the environmental impact. The project will be net-zero carbon enabled.
