Panorama St Paul’s wins Retrofit & Reuse Excellence Award

Panorama St Paul’s has won the Retrofit & Reuse Excellence Award at the Tall Building Awards 2026, recognising its innovative approach to material reuse.

Transformed by KPF from an outdated office building into a contemporary mixed-use development, Panorama St Paul’s incorporates stone from the original building into its new façades.

Existing Portland stone and granite were viewed as a valuable resource, with the original building effectively treated as a quarry. We removed the existing stone and created low-carbon precast units faced with the reclaimed Portland stone, which was then reassembled in a completely new façade.
The project also incorporates modular construction methods, low-carbon materials and a zero-to-landfill policy. Together, these measures have improved the building’s environmental performance while minimising its environmental impact.

The award recognises the value of retaining and reusing existing materials, demonstrating how they can be integrated into contemporary architecture while supporting more resource-efficient construction.
