The Gradel Quadrangles provide 94 student bedrooms, study areas, a performance auditorium, and teaching facilities for New College School, alongside office space for the Gradel Institute of Charity.

We designed, supplied and installed Ancaster Weatherbed stone for the load-bearing facades, which contribute to the scheme’s environmental resilience and are designed to last for centuries. The stone is set in a diamond pattern creating it’s own identity whilst reflecting the character of the surrounding Oxford College buildings.

Our Cove red sandstone adds warmth to the building and is set as a serrated design which traces the roofline, with an undulating rhythm echoed in the tiling that clads the rounded roof. The same sandstone is also detailed around the doors and windows and was specified for the stylish gatehouse.
